Ninja Mini Miser 688 race bearings, $4.00 per bearing, $64 set of 16, $99 kit
Ninja Mini's are well known for speed and light weight. The 688 mini Ninja have been known to spin for 3 minutes. Many downhill racers that are trying to set new records on skates or small flat cars, will use Ninja mini's. These are so fast they sell in other venues.
Ninja Precision speed bearings are the result of years of dedication to design and engineering using purified state of the art materials resulting in the world’s highest quality performance skate bearings. Stringent standards for surface finish, ball quality and cleanliness makes Ninja the best. From Ninja exceptional 608 steel bearing to extremely fast Ninja mini Misers 688 , Ninja provides a superior bearing for every level and type of skater.
Retainers: NiNjAs retainers are finely machined with exceptional balance and precision (not simply molded). We selected delrin nylon, which is not just any plastic like that found in many other brands, and we impregnate the nylon with a material to help prevent the breakdown of the lubricant under use. Most high-speed bearing uses, such as skating, are best served with nylon retainers rather than metal cages.
Shield Design: NiNjAs goal was to protect the super finishes of the raceways and balls as well as our super tolerances, yet still allow the skater the ability to service the bearing. Thus, we chose a labyrinth metal shield on one side. The labyrinth term describes a series of angles or turns in the slot in which the shield sits that make it difficult for contamination to enter the bearing. NiNjA Duramax Speed Gel (DSG) bearings also come with the polymer shield on the opposite side, which can be carefully pried off using a very thin (eyeglass) screwdriver for servicing and then snapped back in place or kept aside for later replacement.
Each NiNjA ABEC bearing is tested at the final stage of the manufacturing process and is guaranteed to meet or exceed all ABEC standards (also JIS), including noise fall-outs. The ABEC rating on NiNjA shields is authentic, something most of our competitors have trouble being honorable with. All NiNjAs feature rings cut from high carbon bearing steel (SUJ2), a metal composition that for skating applications is superior to the SAE52100 found in most other brands. All NiNjA ABEC bearings feature AKS hardened balls, ground and polished to perfection in our facilities. Ball matching is implemented and the entire facility is a “clean room”.
Race Tip steel: To clean bearings place in mineral spirits or any other solvent. Transfer them to cleaner solvent until clean. Once dry, lube with Ninja or TK jell lube. Both are fine. They will last for years. Remove the bearings from the wheels takes care. A good bearing puller is always needed.
Race Tip: I have found that in some wheels that do not spin bearings well, or frames that do not spin bearings well, will spin the ninja 688 with adapter kit just fine.
