Burr Master de-burring stone

Price: $20.00

BurrMaster "No more burr stones" this works great $20
Years of research and development have been put into BURR-MASTERs' design and construction to give you years of trouble free work. Built using the finest composite materials and tungsten carbide cutting surfaces, this tool is most likely going to last a lifetime. We always recommend that leather/ cut resistant gloves be worn during any deburring process. Hard metal with a razor thin burr is hazardous and great care must be taken in handling blades.

Procedure: After sharpening your skate blade you are left with a burr that needs to be removed in order to have a smooth, durable, 90 degree corner on your blade. Insert blade into BURR-MASTER and apply slight thumb pressure directly over the center of the carbide cutter. Slide BURR-MASTER smoothly the full length of the blade in both directions several times to remove all traces of the burr left by sharpening. Care must be given to allow BURR-MASTER to fixture the blade squarely. BURR-MASTER will securely hold onto standard thickness Speed Blades without any problems. Care must be given to not apply too much pressure in front of the carbide cutter with regards to the direction of movement. Doing so may cause the cutter to bite into the blade and yield a less than perfect edge. On thicker blades a simple finger push on the cutters securing nut will make the opening in BURR-MASTER easily fit thicker blades. Several stokes the length of the blade will remove even the most difficult burr on any blade material types.

Trouble Shooting and FAQ's Question: My burr is not being removed in sections of my blade? Answer: Care must be given to not force BURR-MASTER in the negative direction which may cause you to miss the burr in areas of the blade. Also if your blades have a crowned (a rounded/ un flat side wall) wall or have been chamfered by stoning them at a angle to remove a burr, more positive pressure may be required. This more aggressive cutting with The BURR-MASTER should be done only when the blade cannot be repaired by conventional flat stoning of the blade side walls.

Q. Will sharpening oils hurt my BURR-MASTER? A. BURR-MASTER is made out of engineered materials, and will not be affected by cutting oils.

Q. How do I keep my BURR-MASTER Sharp and working like new? A. The carbide cutter used on the BURR-MASTER can be rotated to many positions allowing the use of a large area and several new faces as needed. When it come time to re-sharpening, the carbide cutter can be removed from the BURR-MASTER tool and laid face flat down on a conventional diamond flat stone, and sharpened with slight hand pressure. Replacement cutters are available from your BURR-MASTER dealer.

Q. I have very thin blades (.9mm) and my son has thicker (1.4mm) blades. Will BURR-MASTER work well on both blade types? A. BURR-MASTER has been developed to work equally well with all thicknesses of speed blades currently in use. The spring action of the device has been carefully designed to remove most of the common cosine error involved in fixturing of the cutter to the blade. Within a few attempts you will find that burrs have never been easier to remove.
